Press Release: Government training announcement unravels

Commenting on the news that the Government have admitted not all of the training posts announced today are new.

Shadow Innovation, Universities and Science Secretary David Willetts said:
“Once again, a big announcement by the Government has unravelled under closer scrutiny. Just hours after claiming there would be seven million new training places, they have been forced to admit this is not true.

“Ministers must now come clean and tell us how many of these places are actually new.”

Notes to Editors

“A spokesman for Dius acknowledged the training posts were not all new and said some were online courses, some apprentices and some college courses. But he could not say how many already existed and were filled.”
