Press Release: The new report from the CBI on higher education
David Willetts MP, the Shadow Secretary of State for Universities and Skills, has welcomed the new report from the CBI on higher education. He said:
‘The Government has talked endlessly about improving links between business and universities. But they have consistently failed to deliver.’So the CBI are right to address this issue. Their proposals are a good opportunity to bring this whole issue back to life.
‘Universities have a key role to play in helping the economy rebalance and grow, and businesses are right to favour working with them more closely.’

2. One of the report’s specific recommendations is for a new ‘effective website so that students can compare the outcomes of different choices, based on high-quality information’. The Conservative Party is already helping to develop a website on these lines.
